　　繁华的国际大都会香港闹市中心，口若悬河的洪家宝（陈百祥 饰）带着傻乎乎的小弟麦交（邵国华 饰）公然行窃，结果路上遭遇妙龄女郎嘉嘉（张艾嘉 饰）举报。虽然两人百般抵赖，但在最后关头漏了马脚，被警察关进监狱。令洪、麦意想不到的是，嘉嘉居然是监狱的辅导官，所谓冤家路窄，洪家宝真是窝了一肚子火。二人所在的牢房狱霸横行，为了逃出对方魔爪，他们不惜羞辱监狱长官。经过一段时间牢狱之灾，二人和狱中认识的伙伴冠仁（胡大为 饰）出狱。谁知他们死性不改，骗吃骗喝再度锒铛入狱，这次又撞上了有着一副好皮囊、爱装警察的小混混荣仔（张国荣 饰）。　　洪家宝大骂荣仔，意想不到的是荣仔的老姐居然就是洪的仇敌嘉嘉……

　　World War II is around the corner, but the only thing Sally Bauer can think of is the ocean. Her dream is to swim across the English Channel. Her father has tried to exorcise her obsession with swimming since she was a toddler, without success. An unwanted pregnancy forces her to abandon her dream – and herself. The child’s father does not want to be involved, so as a woman in the ‘30s in Sweden, Sally has no choice but to do what is expected of her: to be a mother. In late August 1939, Sally stands on the shore at Dover and takes her first step into the English Channel. She swims across the open and icy sea for 15 hours, waving to the Navy who are readying for war. A couple of days after Sally swims ashore at Calais, Poland is invaded.

　　格罗夫（亚历山大·潘克拉托夫 Aleksandr Pankratov 饰）是50年代风靡一时的踢踏舞皇帝，如今的他早已经走下了舞台，走向幕后，在当地的歌舞团做艺术指导的工作。青年工人阿尔卡基（彼得·谢尔巴科夫 Pyotr Shcherbakov 饰）对踢踏舞非常的感兴趣，他想拜格罗夫为师，然而，格罗夫却觉得这个小伙子并没有什么舞蹈天赋，对他避之不及。　　一天，格罗夫在电视上看到了自己当年热舞的画面，哪知道主持人竟然说他已经辞世了。这件事情的发生让格罗夫开始想要将踢踏舞重新展现在观众们的面前，他将舞蹈编排成为了节目，并且找来了阿尔卡基作为演员。

　　Driving home late at night during a heavy rainstorm, Glen experiences car trouble.
